Legendary clarinetist Acker Bilk MBE passed away on November 2nd 2014 at the age of 85 after a lengthy illness.
In this short video Jon Evans remembers this great musician, with whom he had the pleasure to work. He recalls these times with him and what a positive influence he was on his music and character alike.
He conquered everywhere. He was such a lovely bloke, a very genuine guy.

Acker Bilk is of course most famous for his tune “Stranger On The Shore”, which stayed in the British charts for one whole year, but he also “personified the trad jazz revival of the 1950s and ’60s” (BBC)
