Today’s group formed in (The Fishtown area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and had a regional hit (Bubbling Under at #119) in 1966 with today’s song on Jamie Records. In 1970 they changed their name to The New Hope (after the town of New Hope, Pa.) and had a #57 hit with Won’t Find Better Than Me.
The group consisted of Carson W. “Kit” Stewart (Vocals, Drums), John Bradley, (Guitar, Lead Vocals), Karl Hausman (Keyboard, Vocals), & Ron Cichonski (Bass, Vocals).
The Lyrics were:
